Could you ever resist this face? This is my neighbor...so DARN cute! She was my model for the MODA BAKE SHOP project, Twisty Twirly Girly Skirt I made.
She was so sweet that I decided to make her a skirt of her very own.
Her favorite color is YELLOW! When I gave her the skirt, she hugged it! IT MELTED MY HEART!
that alone would make it worth while! how cute she is! of course we need to see a picture of her in her yellow skirt so next year when her favorite color is pink will you make her another one!!!!
Sheri, that skirt is just darling and your little neighbor is the perfect model for it! My little Gracie saw it over my shoulder and now she wants one too! I think I'll stop in Moda Bake Shop and check it out!
I need some help. I am trying to make the Twirly Skirt for my 7-year old granddaughter. Her waist is 24 inches and the length from waist to just below knees is 19 inches. I sewed most of the strips together and measured and only come up with 30 inches. And if I cut the width of the fabric, sewn in strips, in half I will still only have 60 inches width. According to the directions I need 4 times 24 inches (waist measurement) and that is 96 inches. Even if I sew all the strips together I doubt I'll get that much yardage. If this skirt can be made for a ten year old and I can't get enough yardage for a seven year old what have I misunderstood? Also, If I measure from waist to knee, then add several inches at waist and several inches at hem won't the skirt be much longer then knee length?
