THREE PILLOWS AND A QUILT

In my desire to have a summer beach house....(in IDAHO?) I am lightening up the colors in my decor to give the illusion of a summer beach house.....I made this pillow for my couch.

I made two pillows like this for my black leather chairs.

I drug this quilt out of the closet... below is the picture of the original...I loved it so much!

This was one of those projects that I bought the book and a few pieces of fabric on the spot when I saw it displayed at the quilt shop.....I used a lot of the fabric I had on hand...and now I wish I would have made it more like the original....do you ever do that? Maybe I will give this one away and make me another...do you ever do that too?
The book is by Barb Adams and Alma Allen of Blackbird Designs....I have always loved their work!!! This little project book had just these two quilts...so CUTE!!! I never did make the other one...I may have to make it too!!!

I really like the blue, and using what you had was a good thing. But you could always make another one in the lighter shades for a summery quilt :-) If I like a pattern, I don't mind making it again.

Beach house is my favorite decorating theme! Your pillows are gorgeous I like the colors you used even better than the original - the blue reminds me of water. I've really only wished I'd done a quilt with the original fabrics with one quilt - I still haven't finished it because I can't get the colors right.

I'm sure Idaho has lakes with beaches so a beach house is totally do-able. Lovely bleached-by-the-sun colours, soft and cool in the shade, warm breezes, cold drinks with water dripping down the outside of the glass. Ahhhh....

Those would look lovely in any house.
I have not seen that pattern from Blackbird before. Very nice.

These are beautiful - I think it is fun to make a quilt in different colorways, since they all look so different. I usually like to wait in between making repeat quilts - makes it all new again.

gorgeous! I'd make a second one and then alternate them for summer and winter. I often find myself unable to vary too much from the original patterns colors or color value. I want what I see on the pattern I guess!

Love your pretty pillows & quilts. What a great pattern, your blue one is lovely.
What sometimes happens to me ,is I do a pattern I just love, then after I have finished it along comes a new fabric line that I fall in love with, so I give the first one as a gift & make the second one for me. funny how that happens.

I love the opening line..."in my desire to have a summer beach house"...that's my goal, too ...in southern Nevada! It's been a year since I've been to California...and I think I need to plan a trip! I think that's one reason I like Simple Abundance so much, too...the colors are gorgeous...and yet have a lightness about them! I love your quilt and pillows too!

Sheri...I love your summer beach house colors. So pretty. Yesterday I helped my mom pick out some "beachy" blue spa type rugs for her bathroom. SOOOOOOOOOO pretty! Have fun!
